Pacific Crest Inspections understands the unique needs challenges of owning a home on an island. We have experience with alternative energy systems, well and septic systems. We perform a visual home inspection of the structure and its systems, as well as an operational check of the various mechanical systems. We evaluate their present condition and life expectancy. Our home inspections often reveal defects that even the seller is not aware of. We provide reports in a easy to read narrative style support with digital pictures. Our philosophy is to provide timely, accurate home inspections while educating the customer about the status and operation of their home. We provide island inspections to Lopez, Shaw, Orcas and San Juan Islands.

Orcas Island, the largest island with 56 square miles (at high tide), has a population of about 3,800. Orcas Island is made up of hamlets and villages. On the western half of the island, Orcas Village,
Westsound and Deer Harbor are all popular destinations. On the mountainous eastern half of the island, Olga is a charming hamlet including two restaurants, an art gallery and post office. The San Juans' largest resort and spa is located in the Rosario area on beautiful Cascade Bay.

Orcas Island offers a mild, four season
climate. The Summer time is warm with temperatures ranging from 65 to 80
degrees. The sun is out approximately 247 days a year and 75% of the approximate
28" inches of annual precipitation falls between November and March, about half
of what falls in Seattle. The Winters are mild with average temperatures between
35 and 55 degrees.
The
islands are reached by air or sea, and most commonly by the Washington State Ferries out of Anacortes where Pacific Crest Inspections is located. The ferries only stops at Orcas Village so most residents and tourists have to drive to designations on the island from there. Orcas is one of the four San Juan Islands served by the Washington State Ferry System. Terminals are located in Anacortes on the mainland, and Sydney, just outside of Victoria, B.C., on Vancouver Island.
The Orcas Island airport, located near Eastsound, has regular commuter flights
as do seaplane bases near several of the major island resorts.
